# LLM Translation Issues
The translation errors are not being fixed in the main file. However, this page collects some examples of the kinds of LLM related translation issues you will encounter in these pages. It is a reminder that these are the products of an automatic process and cannot be trusted for detail-oriented research. They need to be checked again the originals in Chinese.
## The People's Daily 人民日報
[1948.04.29 CPC Jinji-Luyu Central Bureau’s Instructions...](https://baokan.pages.dev/rmrb/?articlePath=1948.04%2F1948-04-29_%E4%B8%AD%E5%85%B1%E6%99%8B%E5%86%80%E9%B2%81%E8%B1%AB%E4%B8%AD%E5%A4%AE%E5%B1%80%E5%85%B3%E4%BA%8E%E5%B7%A5%E5%95%86%E4%B8%9A%E6%94%BF%E7%AD%96%E7%9A%84%E6%8C%87%E7%A4%BA.md) - Notice strange corruptions that happened in this file. Example: "The main task of the General Trading Company is to 활跃 the market and stabilize prices, and not to bear financial tasks, in order to maintain a steady rise in prices (it is impossible not to rise), and not to暴涨暴跌." Here the phrase "暴涨暴跌" was in the original Chinese but not translated. The word 활跃, half in Korean (hwal) is not in the original. **Remnant and Corrupted Originals**
## Shenbao 申報
[1945.05.08](https://baokan.pages.dev/shenbao/1945/1945.05.08) - This issue is from May 8, 1945, but notice that throughout the article there are references to wires coming into the newspaper from "July 7th" giving the impression that there is mismatch between the issue date and the contents. The reference in articles to German surrender, however, confirm that we are not looking at a July issue. Looking back at the original we can find phrases like "東京七日中央社電" being translated as "Tokyo, July 7th (Central News Agency dispatch)" when the original says merely "the 7th" (七日) **Incorrect Dates**
[1948.01.15](https://baokan.pages.dev/shenbao/1948/1948.01.15) - These files contains thousands of references to organizations, institutions, and political bodies. These are sometimes incorrectly translated. To give just one example of this, in an article in this issue the 參政會 is translated as the "Senate" when there is no senate in the Chinese government at this time. Instead, it has elsewhere been translated as the National Political Consultative Council or the National People's Consultative Congress. **Incorrect Translations of Institutions**
